The family of Linda Oburi Akufo, a woman who died and her body preserved in a mortuary at the Assin-Fosu St Francis Xavier Hospital, has been filmed throwing tantrums in a viral video.

In a report covered by Akosua Akyiree Kumiwaa of UTV, the family members who donned mourning attire were filmed wailing after they discovered that the corpse they were expecting to bury was said to have gone missing.

Back in Kenya, a family in Kandara, Murang'a county, is awaiting a court order to proceed with the exhumation of a body they initially mistook for their kin they presumed dead.

Thirty-five-year-old Joseph Kiarie left home in June this year to take up a potter's job in Githurai, Kiambu county.

He, however, lost contact with his family, whose members were later informed that assailants had fatally attacked him in Githurai and that his body was lying in City Mortuary, Nairobi.

The family members made their way to the morgue, where they showed a body before positively identifying it.

They proceeded to bury the body in their native home, oblivious of the turn of events in the offing.

Two months into the burial, Kiarie called his mother, Mary Wamboi, whom he informed had relocated to Gatanga, where he was employed as a tea plucker.

Wamboi said she was shocked as she had concluded he had died. She was, however, relieved after learning that her son was still alive.
