Hydroneer players may begin the game with just a bucket, a pan, and a brush, but that humble beginning doesn't last long. In this sandbox simulation game, players work their way through the game by mining and selling materials. As more in-game credits roll in, Hydroneer's players open up the option to purchase more of the same equipment as well as even better machines.

One of the more useful items that players will want to turn to as they start their journey within Hydroneer is the hand sorter. This machine can help ease a player's burden and ensure that Hydroneer remains a relaxing journey. For those players looking to get their hands on this useful machine and use it, this guide is here to help.

Players can find a hand sorter at either Bastion Keep or Bridgepour's Tools and Equipment area. Bastion Keep is the nearest location to where players begin the game and is known for its impressive battlements on the hill. Meanwhile, Bridgepour is to the southeast and players need to cross the wooden bridge and take the first right to find themselves in this town. It is easiest to sleep through Hydroneer's night phase and make this journey during the day before heading to either location.

In either location, this machine will cost players 165 in-game currency, but there is more to getting this machine up and running than just paying a fee. Players will also need to make sure they have acquired water pipes as well. One of the cheapest ways to make sure a player has running water is to invest in a Forged Iron Intake Water Pipe for 36 of Hydroneer's in-game currency.

The most important thing to remember is that the Hand Sorter requires a water source to function. For Ember Cradle, players can set up their forged iron intake water pipe in the river and connect it to their newly acquired hand sorter. Players might have to rotate one or both of these items in order to line up the pieces correctly, but that can be done as players are attempting to place the objects.

Once the two items have been connected, players have to put the item they wish to be sorted on the hand sorter's tray. Players can then take a pan full of resources and empty them over the top of the machine, and it will sort out every example of the selected ore.

Out of one side will come the selected ore, while everything else will come out the other side. It is wise for players to place pans in front of each output pipe before activating this machine. Like investing in better tools in Stardew Valley, investing in a hand sorter in Hydroneer can improve a player's mining operation dramatically.
