Vacuum, nitrogen and premade pouch packaging machines

Established in 2000, Echomachinery has a 22-year-old history in the field of packing machines. It is one of the largest machinery manufacturers in China with 400 employees, 30 of whom are experienced R&D engineers. The company takes pride in setting down the national standards for automatic pre-made bag packaging machines in the country.

Echomachinery marked the beginning of the year by starting operations of its new manufacturing facility located in Rui’an Economic Development Zone, Dinshan Phase II. Spread over 33,000 square meters, with a total construction area of 98,000 square meters, the facility has a top floor parking and integrated factory and dormitory buildings. With a total investment of over US$ 30 million (approximately Rs 229 crore), the new factory combines R&D, raw material processing, assembly and commissioning, and storage and logistics, in the overall process flow. A high level of integration is said to deliver efficiency, energy savings and an optimum production capacity.

Launched in October of the first pandemic year in 2020, the facility was put into operation only by the end of the second pandemic year, 2021. With the entire project completion to take approximately a year, the firm expects to churn out 2,000 sets of intelligent equipment in 2022, with a capacity of producing goods worth US$ 100 million (approximately Rs 764 crore).

The company’s automatic vacuum packaging machine has a capacity of 85 bags a minute with a filling volume of 5 to 1,000 grams. Made of stainless steel, this rotary packaging solution is safe for the packaging of food and beverages and maintains product hygiene while supplying high durability.

The machine offers automatic control of multiple interlinked processes from loading, filling, packaging, vacuum, sealing, and finished products. With a microcomputer display and a graphic touch panel, Echomachinery’s automatic vacuum packaging machine provides ease of operation and maintenance. The machine provides vacuum nitrogen packaging to end-users, a process that is known to enhance the consumer experience by improving the taste and color of packaged food products while no effect is observed on the product shape.

Also on offer are Echomachinery’s premade pouch packaging machines that are suitable for liquid, powdered and granular food items, household products, and pharmaceutical ingredients and medicines, apart from fertilizers and pesticides for agri-commodities. The machine provides ziplock packaging, gusset bag packaging, spout bag packaging, and pallet bag packaging. This machine also has a bag manufacturing capacity of 80 bags per minute with a filling volume of 5 to 2,500 grams. The pouch packaging machines are fully compatible with various downstream packaging equipment including liquid filling machines, multi-head weighers, inspection devices such as metal detectors and check weighers, and case sealers.

The machine adheres to strict mechanical safety standards, and the in-built touch screen control system provides simplicity and ease of use. With complete automation, the machine simplifies product loading, filling, sealing and finishing while capable of meeting food safety and hygiene requirements.

The Covid-19 pandemic led to the country-wide lockdown on 25 March 2020. It will be two years tomorrow as I write this. What have we learned in this time? Maybe the meaning of resilience since small companies like us have had to rely on our resources and the forbearance of our employees as we have struggled to produce our trade platforms.

The print and packaging industries have been fortunate, although the commercial printing industry is still to recover. We have learned more about the digital transformation that affects commercial printing and packaging. Ultimately digital will help print grow in a country where we are still far behind in our paper and print consumption and where digital is a leapfrog technology that will only increase the demand for print in the foreseeable future.

Web analytics show that we now have readership in North America and Europe amongst the 90 countries where our five platforms reach. Our traffic which more than doubled in 2020, has at times gone up by another 50% in 2021. And advertising which had fallen to pieces in 2020 and 2021, has started its return since January 2022.

As the economy approaches real growth with unevenness and shortages a given, we are looking forward to the PrintPack India exhibition in Greater Noida. We are again appointed to produce the Show Daily on all five days of the show from 26 to 30 May 2022.

It is the right time to support our high-impact reporting and authoritative and technical information with some of the best correspondents in the industry. Readers can power Packaging South Asia’s balanced industry journalism and help sustain us by subscribing.
