WHITE HALL, W.Va. (WV News) — Those with chronic pain, trouble sleeping, migraines, anxiety or depression looking for something natural that will give relief that can help one escape the grips of addictions and is completely legal may think they’re looking for a miracle cure, but Doc Jon’s of Fairmont is out to prove that it is possible.

Doc Jon’s of Fairmont opened its doors in August 2021 in the former White’s Fine Jewelry building at 9 Middletown Road in White Hall. The shop sells a variety of CBD products, including Delta-8 and Delta-9 products that are all 100% legal.

Doc Jon’s is set up with a smoke shop separate from the common area that sells CBD wellness items for people, as well as pets, which includes gummies, gel caps, rubs, oils and tinctures, some under the Whispering Winds label, which is the first line of wellness products produced by the Doc Jon’s label.

In 2018, CBD was federally legalized, and the market became flooded with countless CBD products.

“You can buy everything in my shop, get pulled over at a red light and be completely legal,” said Josh Skidmore, owner of Doc Jon’s of Fairmont.

CBD has been used for thousands of years, with the first documented case being in 2737 BC, when Chinese Emperor Sheng Neng used cannabis-infused tea to aid with a variety of ailments.

Cannabidiol — or CBD — is a one of many Cannabinoids, or naturally occurring compounds, found in the hemp and cannabis plants, and it comes in a variety of forms, including oils, tinctures, gel caps, topicals, edibles, sublingual sprays and vapes.

It is used for a variety of conditions, including chronic pain, and it’s been found to treat anxiety and depression, reduce seizures and relieve symptoms of epilepsy.

The CBD products found at Doc Jon’s of Fairmont are all local. Doc Jon’s products are all grown and processed within a 30-mile radius.

The hemp plants are all grown in Marion and Harrison counties and hand trimmed before being processed using a natural procedure that does not use harsh chemicals and salts. The products are then packaged in Harrison County.

All Doc Jon’s products have a Certificate of Analysis — or COA — where all products are analyzed by a third party.

The motto of Doc Jon’s of Fairmont is “Come in and let’s talk,” and that is exactly what client Roy Snider did.

Snider visited the shop for the first time in November. He suffered with severe arthritis and a variety of other problems before someone recommended him to Doc Jon’s of Fairmont.

“I was a skeptic at first, but it really works,” Snider said. “It’s a miracle. I’m not hurting and don’t have the effects of marijuana. It doesn’t mess with your head. I even gave it to my 82-year-old mother and it has helped her. (Skidmore) knows what he is talking about. I have learned a lot from him.”

Dan Deatrich has asthma and used his rescue inhaler almost daily. Since beginning the CBD gummies, he no longer carries the inhaler in his pocket, although he keeps it in his vehicle.

“I started the gummies and my asthma is completely gone,” Deatrich said. “I don’t have to use my inhaler anymore. It’s crazy, and it doesn’t cause any weird effects. I even gave it to my mom who has issues with her back and knees and it made her feel better. It even works on migraines”

All of the products at Doc Jon’s of Fairmont have a 100% money back guarantee, and the shop offers military and first responder discounts.

“I’m not trying to get your business once,” Skidmore said. “I want this to be a life-changing thing.”
